Subito Concert Opera is a collaboratively run concert opera organization showcasing some of Philadelphia's best new operatic talent, subito! Subito, a musical term which means suddenly or quickly, also stems from the latin word "subire", meaning "to spring up". Quite literally, Subito Concert Opera serves to help rising singers "spring up" and onto the scene, by learning common repertory roles and quickly getting them on their feet, through collaboratively-run rehearsals and concert performances. In order to best prepare for the competitive opera world of today, artists must have a wide variety of roles under their belts so that they can jump in, on a moment's notice, when opportunities arise. Subito Concert Opera is a platform for that critical and practical experience, arming artists with the necessary skills in order to launch their careers.
